Jacksonville Jaguars' 2026 Minicamp Observations: BTJ, Muhammad Shine

The Jacksonville Jaguars held their second day of mandatory minicamp at the Miller Electric Center, with three media members sharing observations following practice. Senior writer John Oehser noted that wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. continued to turn in memorable practices, catching multiple touchdown passes and deep passes. Head Coach Liam Coen praised Thomas's chemistry with quarterback Trevor Lawrence, stating that it's an important and real development for the team. The improvement of the secondary, the addition of rookie tight ends Nate Boerkircher and Tanner Koziol, and the return to health of wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter are also significant storylines for the offseason. However, the focus remains on Lawrence and Thomas's potential to add an explosive element to the offense. Shadrick observed that the Jaguars used practice to ramp up the competitive environment, with the defense winning the majority of team periods. Thomas continued to shine with multiple receptions down the field from Lawrence. Shipley noted that second-year cornerback Jabbar Muhammad had another terrific outing, making a nice play on the ball to break up a potential touchdown pass and recording an interception for a second consecutive day. Coen and defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile have praised Muhammad's offseason performance, and he's starting to stake his claim in the cornerback room. The final minicamp practice is scheduled for Thursday, with Coen stating that next week's final week of organized team activities will focus on positional work and certain passing game matters on both sides of the ball.
