The Jacksonville Jaguars are already looking ahead to the 2027 free agency period, with key dates now set for next offseason. The NFL's legal tampering window opens March 9, 2027, per Tom Pelissero. Currently sitting at 3rd in the AFC with a 13-4 record and riding an eight-game winning streak, the Jaguars have several starters who could become unrestricted free agents.
Defensive tackle Arik Armstead is the biggest name on the list. Through 12 games last season, Armstead generated 41 quarterback pressures — the third-highest mark among defensive tackles in that span. He also ranked near the top of his position group in sacks. But a hand injury slowed him down the stretch, and his production dipped.
Wide receiver Parker Washington is another key piece. He emerged as a go-to target for Trevor Lawrence, posting 100-plus receiving yards in three of the Jaguars' final four games in 2025. Most expect him to sign an extension before hitting the open market.
DaVon Hamilton provides a run-stuffing presence at defensive tackle. His impact doesn't always show on the stat sheet, but he eats up space and takes on blocks, helping stifle the run game and creating opportunities for teammates.
Left guard Ezra Cleveland has been a steady presence for the Jaguars. Among all guards in 2025, he ranked tied for 19th in PFF's pass-blocking efficiency metric and 35th in run-blocking grade. His consistency makes him a priority to retain.
Safety Antonio Johnson saw his role expand as the 2025 season progressed. He graded well as a run defender by PFF's metrics, held pass catchers to under 10 yards per reception, and came away with five interceptions and three pass breakups. His versatility is a big asset.
Linebacker Ventrell Miller has a chance to earn a full-time starting role this summer. If he plays well, the Jaguars might still need to find another starting linebacker in 2027.
The full list of Jacksonville Jaguars' 2027 unrestricted free agents includes: offensive linemen Chuma Edoga and Trystan Colon, tight ends Hunter Long and Quintin Morris, quarterback Nick Mullens, defensive tackles Matt Dickerson and Quinton Bohanna, running backs Ameer Abdullah and DeeJay Dallas, wide receivers Tim Jones and Austin Trammell, cornerbacks Dane Jackson and Christian Braswell, and linebacker Yasir Abdullah.
That's a lot of depth pieces. The Jaguars will need to decide which ones to re-sign and which to replace.
The Jaguars have training camp and the full 2026 season ahead before free agency arrives. Their next game is against the Cleveland Browns on September 13, 2026. With a 13-4 record and a current eight-game win streak, the team is in strong position. But the front office will need to manage the cap and make tough calls on these free agents.
For now, the focus is on the 2026 season. But the March 9, 2027 deadline is already on the calendar.
